Àngel Belzunegui Eraso is a lecturer in Sociology at Rovira i Virgili University, has a postgraduate degree in Demography and a PhD in Sociology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He is the director of the Professorship of Social Inclusion at Rovira i Virgili University.
As a research coordinator, he has developed leading team management skills, both in leading a research group at Rovira i Virgili University (SBRlab, with twenty members) and in coordinating projects. He has coordinated a national project on poverty and gender involving six different universities. He has been the scientific co-director of the European ICUD project, in which he developed a procedural methodology that the international partners implemented. Furthermore, he has also worked with the international team of the Expéditions project, together with sociologists from Spain, France and Poland, and is currently the scientific coordinator of the Encycopèdie des Migrants project, leading a team of researchers from France, Portugal and Spain.
He is currently a senior researcher at the Observatory for the Fight against Poverty and for Social Inclusion, a collegiate body between the Department of Labour, Social Affairs and Families and Rovira i Virgili University to issue annual poverty reports in Catalonia. In addition, he has been the coordinator of the Jean Monnet module The challenges of the European Union in the social agenda: poverty, inequality and social inclusion from 2017 to 2020, granted by the EU in the Erasmus + Programme Jean Monnet Activities, Teaching and research: Modules, Chairs and Centres of Excellence programme (reference: 587.861-EPP-1-2017-1-ES-EPPJMO-MODULE)
