Ramón y Cajal research staff
Amelia Bargalló Ferrerons is a Ramón y Cajal researcher at the Rovira i Virgili University (URV) and an associate member of the Institute of Human Palaeoecology and Social Evolution (IPHES).
The most relevant aspects of her research career are: 1) International PhD, stay at the Università degli Studi di Ferrara (Italy), obtaining in 2014 the European PhD mention (URV) and in 2015 the International PhD Research Award by the URV. 2) The PREKARN project (MSCA-IF PREKARN no. 702584) was selected for publication in the Results en breu section of the CORDIS website of the European Commission. 3) She is lead author of sixteen articles in international journals with impact factor, index H = 15, and 4) she is also on the Editorial Board of six open access journals with pre-reviewers, as well as a reviewer of thirteen international journals and a member of the grant evaluation committee at an international and national institution (AEI).
She is a member of the teaching staff of the interuniversity Master's degree in Quaternary Archaeology and Human Evolution (Erasmus Mundus), as well as of the degree in Anthropology and Human Evolution and is included in the database of the European Union Doctoral Network Aurora. Likewise, also participates in numerous outreach activities at secondary school level, transmitting knowledge of scientific research in human evolution. One example is her participation in the STEAM programme since 2020, led by the University of Deusto, with the aim of promoting STEAM careers among the new generations (especially among the female gender).

Research lines:
His current research focuses on human cognitive evolution and the study of prehistoric stone tools, in particular, she focuses on understanding and identifying the manifestation of technology and its socialisation at different stages of human evolution.
