Albert Irigoyen Zaragoza

FULL UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR 

Albert Irigoyen Zaragoza has a degree in Primary Education, a degree in History and a master's degree in Teacher Training (Geography and History). He holds a PhD from the Rovira i Virgili University (URV) in Didactics of Social Sciences (PhD in Humanistic Studies) with the qualification of excellent cum laude and international mention, thanks to a thesis focused on cooperative learning and cooperative pedagogies in Didactics of Social Sciences in teacher’s training.

He is a lecturer in the field of knowledge of Didactics of Social Sciences at the URV, where he has previously been an associate lecturer, pre-doctoral and post-doctoral FI-SDUR researcher and substitute lecturer. Furthermore, he also teaches at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) and has collaborated at the Universitat d'Andorra (UdA).

Not only that, but he is an editor of the journal Comunicació Educativa (1575-9911/2339-5559), a publication of the URV's Didàctiques Específiques and published by Publicacions URV. He is also a member of the consolidated research group ISOCAC, collaborates in the groups GRAI, EACoop, Investigació Didàctica i Continguts Curriculars and ICEM-34, and is a member of the Xarxa Interuniversitària d'Aprenentatge Cooperatiu (XINTERAC).

He has participated and cooperated in various funded research and innovation projects, and works as a teacher trainer in cooperative learning and cooperative pedagogies in educational centres, pedagogical renewal movements and research groups. Likewise, he has also carried out research stays in the LIRDEF group at the Université Paul-Valéry of Montpellier and the SOCIAL(S) group at the Universitat de València.

The publications deal with cooperative interaction in Social Science Didactics and other topics such as cooperative learning, cooperative pedagogies, democratic education, relevant social problems, democratic memory and reflective and critical thinking practices.
